In Department of Pathophysiology, at the end of the 50s, the natural thing was to exchange ideas between doctors, engineers, physicists and mathematicians. This cooperation resulted in, among others,  development of research in the field of biocybernetics and the formation of interdisciplinary team of specialists freely moving on the border between medicine and cybernetics.

One of the tools  used by the team in conducting research was a computer ODRA 1304 - the first computer in our University. It was natural that the Electronic Computing Technology Center was founded just in Department of Pathophysiology.

Therefore, it seems clear that teaching in the field of computer science and biostatistics has been entrusted to the employees of Pathophysiology Department.
